The Snip Heard Round the World... and by Round the World I mean, in our Livingroom

In 2010 Danny and I held each other as we peered out our living room window and watched the cable man cut our cable. (I won't lie, we held our breath as the man climbed the ladder and there was an audible "uh" as he snipped the cord.). In a flash I saw reruns of Brideszillas, Sarah's House and 19 Kids and Counting disappear along with the ability to DVR Survivor while watching my Wednesday night ABC line up. I won't lie, I wasn't sure I'd make it. I love TV.

I worked in TV for a hot second, and I loved being around people who loved TV as much as I did. And loved to talk about TV as much as I did. In fact, one thing I miss (particularly now as new seasons of my favorite shows are starting) is spinning my chair around when I first started with As the World Turns, and chatting with my boss about the newest episode of Grey's, Lost and the Office, while we watched The Today Show followed by The View (why don't all offices have TVs in them????) Sorry, tangent.... anyway....

You know what? We're more than fine without TV, because we aren't without TV... just cable. See we got this $15 antenna and as if by magic we still get all of the major networks plus the CW and MY43 which run reruns (including How I Met Your Mother every night from 7-8) and other new shows (including Ringer, which the jury is still out on). So yeah, I miss my Lifetime Original Movies, but you know what - WE DON'T HAVE A CABLE BILL. Grateful.

(And, oh yeah, I miss YOU in my office.)

  2. Lifetime original movies are so depressing. I remember being only 10 or 11 and refusing to let me Mom watch lifetime because the movies only depressed her and made her cry. I'm glad you don't get them anymore!
