Miracle at the Waterloo Outlets

When Danny and I got engaged I was incredibly excited to register for gifts. He, however, was not. He felt weird about "telling" people what to buy for us, or looking like we were being greedy - well that all changed the second he got that little zapper thing in his hand at Bed Bath & Beyond and Pottery Barn. (You'd better believe there was a $600.00 bench from Pottery Barn on there unbeknownst to me for a good week!)

Anyway, we really wanted a good set of pots and pans. We had a mixture of things from college and first apartments, but were really excited for a high quality collection. So we zapped the Calphalon Unison Nonstick 10-piece Cookware Set. We were incredibly lucky to get the majority of the pots and pans in this set, and I immediately fell in love with them. My dinners cooked more quickly and more evenly - I swear dinner from these pans just tasted better.

However, there was a lone pot that we did not receive... the 3-quart Covered Saucepan. And I'll admit, we toyed with the thought of sucking it up and buying the $175 pan... but we just couldn't bring ourselves to shell out the dough. (Please recall, we don't pay for cable - do people who don't pay for cable buy $175 pans?)

Well, we were at the Waterloo Premium Outlets (I can't lie, I'm not sure what makes them "premium"). As we walked by a cookware outlet I saw.... THE PAN. There it was. I felt like I was recognizing my long lost relative. There she sat, undamaged, with her lid, batting her eyelashes at us, and wearing a $25 orange price tag. That's right - 25 bucks. I'll say that one more time. Our $175 pan was staring at us for $25. SOLD. Grateful.
