Brace yourself, it's only day two of this blog, and I've already got two things I'm grateful for in one day. Wild.
I've got a 50 minute to hour long commute every day (yes, love my job, grateful to be employed but incredibly aware of my fuel costs). It's a tolerable drive that becomes enjoyable when I have a cup of coffee, a cool Fall day, and some... yes... I'm about to say it - Car Talk. I love a good Car Talk podcast. There I said it. I recognize Car Talk's shortcomings, but man over the years the shortcomings have become endearing. But come on, get people to call up and imitate the weird noises their car is making? I'll listen to that.
Also, I make horrible coffee. I've never been able to get the proportion of coffee to water right, and the result is, well, not good. Thankfully, we have a Keurig, and K-cups have become a "must" in the budget. So tonight, after a long day and coming home to do dishes, I just had a perfect cup of coffee and two cookies for dinner. Grateful.
So, I have to comment because I love you but also because I have recently been won-over to automatic coffee (on occasion). I can say that I am actually really good at making coffee (after nearly 4 years married to a Glendinning and 1 year living in the basement of Charlie: The Coffee King). But, when our friends left the UK last week and handed down their Nespresso machine to us, my life has changed dramatically for the better. Automatic milk frother? Ohmigoodness. And a perfect shot of espresso (even a good decaf espresso) in 5 seconds???? You would not believe what a difference it makes for my day to have those extra 7 minutes in bed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for making us all think about what we're grateful for, Emmy. :)
